I may be petite, but my style is anything but that.
In my opinion the term “petite fashion” encompasses too many different types of women. I frequently find that the petite styles come off as too young (hello, juniors section) or too conservative for my taste. After years of searching, I still have yet to come across a petite blogger who I relate to style-wise. Of course I am always open to suggestions, so please leave a comment if you have a recommendation!
For all of you small girls searching for a wardrobe report, let’s get right to it. Here are my top 5 favorite brands:
My favorite piece is the faux fur bomber jacket I bought at Planet Blue in Dallas. It fits perfectly and is my go-to lighter jacket for winter in Aspen. Their basics and graphic tees are super comfortable and easy for a throw-and-go kind of day.
Nightcap seamlessly combines an ultra feminine bohemian style that results in gorgeous form fitting clothing. I bought a long sleeve mini blue bodycon that I’ve worn to many cocktail parties (pictured above in the middle), and wouldn’t mind getting it in a similar style like this red number or sleeveless in black!
I bought a pair of Sam Edelman sandals for my sister’s wedding that I ended up wearing every day for the next three summers. The quality of their shoes is absolutely amazing. When I found out Sam Edelman makes coats and jackets, I knew I had to have one. I scored this peacoat at the boutique in NYC, but there are similar options-including this cute jacket & this puffer– both 50% off!
Spell & The Gypsy Collective
The fashion in Australia is 100% my style. One of my favorite Australian brands is Spell & The Gypsy Collective. I go crazy over every new print they make for the gorgeous kimonos, flowy dresses, intimates and more. I bought one of my favorite maxi skirts from Spell and didn’t have to get any alterations for it-a very RARE moment for anything maxi in my closet. Both dresses shown above are Spell. I’ve been eyeing this white dress for a while, and will most definitely be spotted running around in this romper when summer rolls around.
Show Me Your Mumu
Show Me Your Mumu has made my closet so much more exotic and colorful. This California brand is what American dreams are made of, with each piece made in the USA. I recently waited until the last minute to get a dress for a wedding shower and picked up this dress the day before-meaning NO ALTERATIONS NEEDED! I wore it with the tie behind in a bow for a choker style look. But Mumu isn’t limited to flowy bohemian pieces- hello après ski! Also, really into this mini dress for summer! Full disclosure- I do have to get their maxi skirts/dressed hemmed, but no extra alterations are necessary for Mumu’s tops or mini dresses.
